Fluorescent Lamps / Ballasts / Paint Related Materials / Old Computer Equipment

Fluorescent Lamps

  1. Fluorescent Lamps must be boxed and sealed with packing tape, NOT duct tape. Original boxes are preferred, the lamp spacers are not necessary. Write the number of lamps on the outside of each box.
  2. Provide an inventory sheet indicating the total number of boxes and lamps per box. (For example: 4 - 4 ft boxes: (28, 28, 32, 32), 3 - 8 ft boxes: (17, 17, 18 ), and 2 Compact boxes: (50, 55)).
  3. Lamps are transported directly to Recyclights in Bloomington, MN for lamp recycling.

Ballasts

  1. Ballasts can be packaged into boxes. However, pails with lids or drums with locking ring lids work best.
  2. Use Form C. (See the example of a completed manifest for ballasts.)
  3. A manifest with a ballast count must accompany each box/container of fluorescent ballasts.
  4. Follow instructions 7 thru 12 in "Instructions to Package Material/Waste Safely".

nt Related Materials (paint, varnish, ink, epoxy paint, adhesives, etc.)

  1. If you only have a few containers, use the Commercial Products Instructions.
  2. If you have a large quantity of paint related material, please call the CSDP for special instructions.

Old Computer Equipment (monitors, hard drives, etc.)

  1. Provide an inventory sheet indicating how many items of each you have.

If you have a large quantity of old computer equipment, please call the CSDP for special instructions.
